Pillars Of Success
Success means different things to different people however when you are building your success structure it must have a strong foundation or pillars supporting it. On this video Mat talks about having the right pillars of success for you so your success structure is not only firm but complete and taking care of your whole life.
Chuck It Down
Setting a goal at the beginning of the year is really exciting and can get the energy going however as time passes throughout the year the intensity around your goal can lessen and sometimes you can even forget about the goal that you originally set. On this video Mat talks about chunking it down to make sure your focus stays and you end up at the place where you want to be 12 months down the track.
That Feeling

Well New Year has passed and the build up to a brand new year is complete.
The reason I wanted to post about this is the feeling.
The exciting, energized feeling of a brand new year that’s just about to tick over.
You know that feeling of all the brand new opportunities and possibilities to explore.
It’s such a unique feeling and it’s like the whole planet is pumped all at the same time.
There seems to be a buzz in the air and everyone is smiling, relaxed and connected.
This is my point, why do we only feel this way mainly at Christmas and New Year?
Why do we all seem to be loving life and feel completely focused about achievement when a brand new year is ahead?
Why don’t we keep that energized focused feeling right the way through the year.
Every day, every week and every month.
Why is that?
It seems like we become wide eyed and vibrant about life but as the year progresses we slowly lose that “I love life” feeling.
Many of us slowly become detachteched, despondent and jadded. It creeps up on us slowly like the frog in boiling water and before we know it we feel stretched thin and exhausted.
So why don’t we live the whole year full of energy?
Why do we have to live a life of silent desperation?
Why not design a year or a life differently if you have been living a life of exaustion?
Why does it have to be just at this time of year that we feel connected and plugged in?
It doesn’t, you can make different choices about the way you live to keep this wonderful and full feeling going right the way through the year.
It really just comes down to the thoughts you think and what you focus on.
We love this time of year because it has certain meanings for each of us such as no work, time with family and the turning of a New Year.
We think and feel certain ways about this time of year and we really appreciate these festive months and that’s what it’s about APPRECIATION.
When you appreciate anything in life it makes you feel good and when you focus on things that aren’t pleasant you feel off.
So, if you want to feel this special vibrant energy feeling right the way through the year you have to design it that way.
Design your day so there are lots of things to appreciate.
Always be thinking of great things in your life rather than focusing on the unwanted and soon enough you will form a habit of thought that constantly looks for good things and over time your enjoyment levels will be much much higher because you are pointed in a direction of what is going right, rather than pointed in the direction of what isn’t working.
There are so many things to love right now about your life no matter where you are, just take a look around and start appreciating.
The better you feel the better things go, so if you spent some of last year feeling a little dis-connected maybe think about where your focus was.
Were you focusing on things that weren’t working or great things that were coming your way?
It is completely your choice what you focus on and it’s comepletely your choice how you feel.
And it’s also your choice how you design your day, week, month and year.
The question is how much do you want to feel good and keep this awesome New Year feeling going?
What are you going to start focusing on?

New Year 2012
Mat starts the New Year with a very special guest, his son Logan about his goals for 2012, school and anything else that comes to mind.
Quick Story

Something to think about.
Heading into the New Year we can either life by default or live with purpose,
I just wanted to share one story with you to get you thinking.
Some of you may of heard this before but maybe read it again as a refresh if you have.
The man I wanted to talk about is Mr Soichiro Honda, yes Honda, the man who founded the car company.
His story is awesome, here is a snap shot about how this one man started with nothing but with an idea and a desire.
In 1938, while he was still at school Mr Honda took everything he owned and invested in a little workshop.
He started working on a concept he had for a piston ring motor which he wanted to sell to Toyota.
He worked day and night believing he could produce this motor.
Things got tight and he even had to pawn his Wife’s jewllery to keep going.
When he finally completed the motor, he presented it to Toyota but they said it didn’t meet their standards and was rejected.
Two more years he continued to work on the design and finally Toyota gave Mr Honda the contract he had dreamed of.
All his hard work, passion and belief paid off.
Just as this was given the go ahead the Japanese government was gearing up for war and Mr Honda was unable to get the concrete he needed to start his factory and this meant that his dream was unable to move ahead because without the factory he could not produce the motors.
Did this stop Mr Honda from realizing his dream? Did he quit?
No he kept his eye on his goal and worked around it with what was available to him.
He and his team went to work and invented a process for creating concrete! and then built their factory.
During the war it was bombed TWICE, destroying major portions of the manufacturing facility.
Honda’s response?
He immediately rallied his team together and went to work picking up all of the empty gasoline cans scattered across the town dropped by the US fighter jets, Mr Honda called them “gifts from President Truman” because they provided him with raw materials he needed for his manufacturing process so he could get started again.
These materials were unavailable in Japan at that time and without them he could not of rebuilt and kept going.
Finally after getting through all of this an earthquake leveled his factory.
Then Mr Honda, decided to sell his piston operation to Toyota.
After the war there was a massive gasoline strike in Japan and Mr Honda couldn’t even drive his car to get food for his family.
Out of necessity he attached a little motor to his bicycle.
The next thing his neighbors wanted one.
Eventually so many people wanted one he just couldn’t keep up so he decided to build a plant that would manufacture his new invention but he didn’t have enough money to build it.
He made a decision to find a way.
He approached 18,000 bike shops to see if they would invest, that’s right 18,000!
5,000 of them decided to invest and off he went and started making the motors.
However not as many people were buying as he thought because the general market felt the motors were too big and bulky.
So he went back to work to make a lighter and scaled down version.
He called it “The Super Cub” and it was an overnight success!
They became so popular he started to export them all over Europe and the United States.
Today, the Honda Corporation employs over 100,000 people and is one of the biggest car companies in Japan, outselling all but Toyota in the United States.
It succeeded because one man had an idea and a dream and kept taking action until it was achieved regardless of the environment.
The reason I wanted to share this story is things happen to everyone and the reason people succeed is because they work out how to solve what pops up and keep going.
Success is a combination of desire, passion, perseverance, self assessment, accountability and massive action and if all of this is put into play once you are given the idea you then become unstoppable.
So the next time you have an idea that burns bright in your heart think of Mr Soichiro Honda and how the only thing that mattered to him was the achievement of the goal and nothing was going to stop him until it was done.
Imagine if Mr Honda gave up after all those years of hard work when Toyota originally said no, it would of changed his destiny forever and the world would of never had the benefit of some of the best cars ever made.
You may want to give up sometimes but if the desire is burning bright enough in your heart it is doing that for a reason, it’s the Universe trying to show you your path to success.
Go for it with everything you have and if you do, there is only one outcome that can happen if you just keep going……. SUCCESS!
Let’s make 2012 the most successful year ever.

20 Things To Think About To Create A Super Successful 2012

There’s lots of recommendations about how to make next year great, so I thought I’d join in and share mine with you.
1. Start the New Year fresh rather than with a hangover, how can any year get off to a good start when you feel like crap.
2. Write down a list of 10 things you want to achieve during the year, they could be things you want to get, places you want to see, achievements at work or things that will enhance your personal life like more time off.
3. Write a list of at least 5 books you want to read during the year that will expand your mind.
4. Have a clear understanding of what a 10/10 work day looks like for you and stick to it.
5. Get the mat steinwede performance app to keep you accountable.
6. Eat good food, junk food will do just one thing, make you look like junk.
7. Start each day with a simple morning ritual, this will get the energy flowing. It could be a run, walk, surf, meditation etc etc.
8. Study the Law Of Attraction.
9. Think thoughts of success, tell yourself the story of your success.
10. Have another interest that you want to succeed at along side work, make this an important part of your life because it will increase your energy.
11. Live moderately, spend less than you earn.
12. Smile more, it will do wonders for your health.
13. Take regular breaks throughout the year, not one big one at the end of the year.
14. Be selective about who you spend time with, if people are negative get away from them.
15. Have a social networking plan for your business, this will be important.
16. Call your friends and family often.
17. Go and see a movie with your partner at least once a fortnight.
18. Say yes more than no because the next opportunity you are looking for will only come your way when you go with it.
19. Work hard but work harder on yourself.
20. Always remember success is achieved only when you go after it, now go get it!
