Hi Mat,

I remember last year asking whether anybody will phone you back after leaving a message. Will I know the answer now for myself, for any prospecting calls I make if I do not have the pleasure of chatting to the home owner I always without fail leave a message. Yes I leave plenty of messages, but when the phone rings for any appraisal & listing opportunity the hard work has been done. I have now completed many pipeline appraisals & listed 3 properties directly from leaving a message.
Mat this one tip I consider gold

Mat love the brutal hard facts in this clip. Too many people live for the now and being average in the now rather than taking control now, being exceptional now and building a brighter future above and beyond the average or 80% of the population.

Angelina , I agree. There’s nothing HARD except to be consistent. Every Agent starts in a rush doing ‘everything’ ok, and nothing well
If you have no plans to get a personal coach, I recommend watching MATs Videos – he’s right on the money

Silly me but whats the I in GCI? Gross commission ‘?’

Ive been in the industry 1 year today!! AND Thankfully I found this site, because up until then I’ve over complicated everything, trying to do a bit of everything and doing nothing well…

I’ve been totally overwhelmed by different opinions on how to do things, I get into a panic like frenzy… I have the energy & the enthusiasm but after reading John McGrath’s interaction with his staff etc, I envy them and wish I had their guidance by this role model… he must be an awesome boss to work with!!

In all this time I’ve been like a three legged rubberman going so fast Im tripping myself up! AND I scratch my head wondering what an earth am I doing wrong that Im in this frustrated frenzy work mode, yet I look around the office at some who can chat away for quite some time in a calm relaxed manner???
(hahaha not sure if this makes sense to any of you but its a very good reflection of my state of mind and its good to get it off my chest!)

One day recently I watched one of the videos about doorknocking and then input thoses entries into a data base….then follow them up!!!…..that simple……phew!

I’ve bought a collection of personal growth books ‘You Inc’ by John McGrath is my current one (just over half way through) among the infamous, how to win friends & influence people and 5 others

I like to leaflet drop, I do this early in the morning before it gets too hot and I just love it, it makes me appreciate that I have a job that is only limited by my efforts!!!

I moved to a different patch and now I have to start over but this is a great way to learn your streets, you meet people and you get to see whats going on, what houses are empty and the changes, plus I enjoy the cardio and the tone up. Its also nice when you come across people you have met when doorknocking before & stop for a chat!

Sorry if i’ve waffled on but ive SO enjoyed it

Totally agree and this is something I have been focusing on in the last 6 months. Just doing the basics and doing them well. My favorite form of prospecting is calling, cold or warm doesn’t matter, I just love sitting in my car where its nice a private and I can make calls. I block out time and just do it. The quantity of calls doesn’t matter as long as they are good quality calls. However my goal is to block out more time. I know I can make more calls than I am now.

Keep up the good work mate. Great to hear your DOM are so low in comparison to everyone else. The best thing I did on my holidays was take my son to the beach for the first time. He loves swimming in the pool and it was super hot so we went to the beach. He loved it and I loved seeing him so happy and excited.

Hey Mat,

I love using the CMA doorknock too, its time consuming but just so effective plus the client gets to meet you and it starts a big relationship.

The cool thing is that it really does not take long before you see some big results from it.

Good on you for a harder hitting video – its time for agents sitting on the sidelines to either go all in when making a goal such as $1m GCI. If you cant handle the heat then get out the kitchen!
