Your Company

When I was in Wollongong on the weekend I was eating Turkish food with Logan & Phoenix (in below picture) and across the street was a McGrath office (the one in the picture above).

When I saw it I enjoyed knowing the company is growing and also the feeling of being a part of a very cool brand.

It got me thinking about who you work for.

As you can probably tell by this post and also other videos I’ve done, I genuinelly love being a part of McGrath.

The company is awesome and so is John.

I was thinking about how many agents/people work for companies they either don’t like or maybe sort of like.

Sure, there would be many that love their company too however this post is probably more directed at those agents that go to work on a daily basis and in their heart want to be working for someone else or somewhere else.

When I left the Turkish place I stood across the road and took this shot with my phone and really did think to myself how good it was to be a part of the McGrath family.

It’s just a cool company.

Think about how long we spend at work everyday and if you are anything like me there is a blurred line between work and leisure because I’m always working in one way or another (just how it rolls).

Then I started thinking about imagine going to work at an office or company that didn’t support you, didn’t inspire you or didn’t enhance your career.

That’s like going to a restaurant to eat every night and you can’t stand the food….. Why go?

Belonging to a company that is ahead of the curve or constantly raising the bar really does make you walk taller, it makes you feel eager and makes you actually want to become better because the energy of the company is exactly that, better.

Success requires a firm foundation and I feel the company you work for provides the foundation for your success and then the rest is up to you.

If however you are working at a company that doesn’t have the right support, culture or energy then your success foundation won’t support you in the same way.

It will feel sort of draining and will potentially limit your success.

The company you work for does play an important part in your success path and some people say it’s just a name above a door and years ago I probably would of agreed with that statement.

However after being a part of the McGrath family for a number of years now, I love the excitement of being with a company that walks on the leading edge of Real Estate.

Brand is powerful and when you combine a great company brand with your own personal brand then you have a huge competitive difference and it will increase your chances of becoming the best in your market place.

It takes a long time to develop a great brand and company but without great people in the organization a company will also be limited.

That’s why company and people go hand in hand and when you get the combination right you have have the potential to lead an entire industry and become a group that many others will follow.

Are you loving the company you work for?

It’s a funny title but it does relate to what some of us do.

I reckon so many agents go in squirts.

This is more of an observation than a generalisation.

It’s really easy to be energised and enthused for a day, a week or a month but to generate momentum, you can’t go in squirts.

Many agents prospect when they have nothing else to do instead of making it one of the only things they should do.

They see it as a squirt rather than a power packed career changing activity.

Often agents get all reved up because they have no stock or are running low on listings and then they start reactively calling people looking for that flukey call that might just find a seller.

They go to a seminar and hear someone like James Tostevin speak about prospecting and go back to the office and decide to prospect their heart out but after a couple of days or maybe a week they get busy doing other things and their squirt of effort stops.

It’s absolute craziness and unfortunately it’s more often the case than not.

If you want a seven figure business squirts don’t cut it.

The only thing squirts will produce are puddles of results.

To get the river of results you are looking for it’s not created by squirts but by a consistent and steady flow of effort.

Once your stream gets moving with a little bit of effort and consistency over time, before you know it you are plowing down the river at full speed.

It becomes exciting, exhilarating and much more fun than running around squirting all over the place.

Prospecting becomes fun when you start generating lots of results and lots of results come when you are committed to consistently being pro-active every single day.

All you have to commit too is 1 hour a day (everyday) and it will change your career forever

Are you squirting?

This is a sort of personal post but I thought I’d share it with you because maybe it might help you down the track.

Many people may think that I’m not scared of too much, I give things a go and put myself out there.

Many people have been very surprised when I have said to them I’m a very shy person and sometimes lack confidence, especially in areas to do with other people.

Sure I do get out there and do stuff but over the years I’ve had to really dig deep to get the courage to do it.

Why am I telling you this?

Because looking back I think my lack of confidence has cost me at times.

Mainly cost me opportunities that could of flowed much easier.

The times when I’ve been asked to do something that was outside of my comfort zone (and there have been many) and I have opted for the safe response of NO.

This was becoming more often than not as I became more well known in the industry and in the market place.

People would call and ask me to do things and before I really gave it much thought I was already thinking, I can’t do it because what if I get too nervous or aren’t the best I can be?

What a story I was telling myself!

Then one day I realised that I was limiting my growth, my opportunities and my unlimited success because I was scared.

I was scared of not performing my absolute best and also what others would think of me.

So, only just recently I have decided to embrace the opportunity and go with it.

One of the things that got me thinking initially was when Nick Voichick said at AREC last year…… “you never know what’s around the corner until you go”.

So true, just around the corner of the opportunity put infront of us could be the very thing that will lead us to achieve our wildly successful goals.

I have come to realise that achievement of goals are moving to one opportunity and then to another, once they are put infront of us.

That’s how the Universe guides us to our most deeply desired goals, and quite often those opportunities come to us through other people.

Hearing Nick say that quote wasn’t the thing that changed me right there and then but it got me thinking and then even up until recently I was still being super selective on what I would and wouldn’t do based on if I was scared or not.

Then recently I decided that if I wanted to achieve my own massive success then I have to go with the flow more and go with the flow of the Universe and see where it takes me.

And things just seem to be opening up even more!

Does this mean I won’t say no to things, of course not but I won’t get all tight inside when someone puts something to me anymore.

I will be more willing to do those things that may make me feel a little uncomfortable at first but will pay long term dividends because I went with it and will create a whole new sequence of opportunities.

Has this helped my confidence too, 100% because now I believe that things will work out and work out in the very best way because I’m flowing with the energies of the Universe and the Universe is guiding me to massive success.

Sometimes we tell ourselves things that just aren’t real and if that story is making us scared of getting out of our comfort zone, our success will be far more limited than if we just gave it a go and see what happens.

How many times have we done something we were scared of and later looked back and said that was AWESOME! Can I do it again!!

Lots I’m sure.

Fear can be something that can help you be fully alert but it can also be something that can slow your progression right down if we let it rule us.

So, the next time someone asks you to do something that is a bit scary, maybe go with it and see what new opportunities open up for you.

And at very least you would of stepped out of your comfort zone and it will help increase your confidence

Is there anything holding you back at the moment?

Mat

30 Minute Energy-Alignment Process

As many of you know I have studied a lady by the name of Esther Hicks for many years.

I am reading one of her books called The Vortex and I wanted to share an extract with you because it is important if you want to create different or improved results in your life.

It is about how you line your energy up for the day and bring yourself into alignment.

By doing this consistently you will attract the best things into your life.

Here you go:

You can get a running start on a day of aligned Energy as you put yourself to bed the night before.

Find things in your immediate vicinity- such as your bed, your bed linens, and your pillow- to direct your appreciation toward.

Then set your intention to sleep well and to awaken refreshed.

When you find yourself awake in the morning, lie in more appreciation for at least five minutes, and then refresh yourself by bathing and eating.

Then, sit for 15 minutes and quiet your mind.

Feel what ever resistance you may have fall away, and feel your Vibration rise.

Then open your eyes, and sit for five or ten minutes writing a list of things you appreciate about your life.

Esther Hicks goes on to say this after these instructions:

“In doing this Energy-alignment work, your point of attraction will not only yield to you activities and rendezvous with good-feeling people, places, and things- but your ability to experience the delicious depth of them will be dramatically enhanced. Rather than doing things and going places to try and make yourself feel good, deliberately get to feeling good- and let those things and people and places come to you”.

This is a great thing to do and remember how you feel is what you attract.

So if you would like improved alignment and different events to be attracted into your life, maybe give it a try and maintain it for a period of time and watch you life change through your improved Energy- alignment

Enjoy your day!

Mat

This is a short story I heard Robin Sharma share recently.

It’s about Picaso.

One day an old lady saw Picaso in the street and she called out to him “Picaso, Picaso, wait” and she ran up to Picaso and said “Picaso Picaso, would you draw me a picture?”.

The old lady gave Picaso a piece of paper and pencil and he took a few minutes and drew a brilliant drawing on the piece of paper and gave it back to the old lady.

She said “Thank you Picaso that is amazing and beautiful, Thank you”, then she ran off down the road.

Picaso yelled out “lady wait, where are you going? that will be $1,000,000″.

The old lady said what? why? it only took you a few minutes! Why would it cost $1,000,000.

He then said it may have only taken a few minutes but it has taken me 30 years to be able to do that.

Why I wanted to share this with you is, there is power in becoming an expert at something.

What ever you do for a living, your life changes when you become an expert and become known for something.

Your income changes, your choices change and your opportunities change.

Becoming an expert takes time and focus but when it happens, you name your price, you choose your clients and you design your life how you want it to be, because you specialise in something few others do.

Many people do just enough and that will help them earn a living and get by but if you want to dramatically change your life, start becoming an expert and so many more opportunities will find you.

Just like Picaso knowing his worth of $1,000,000 for a few minutes work because he knows there is only 1 Picaso that can do that drawing, so too there is only one you and once you become so good at what you do, you too can name your price because few others (if any) can compete with your expertise and soon enough life changes for you.

If you aren’t sure how exactly to start becoming an expert at what you do, start by committing to make each person you deal with say WOW every time you serve them and little by little you will start moving to a place of magnificence and over time people will recognise you as the best in your field because you care more.

It doesn’t take much to be a lot better, but it does a lot to stay committed on the path of becoming an expert.

Becoming an expert is nothing more than never settling for second best and then sticking at something longer than most other people are prepared too.

It’s an exciting opportunity if you think about it and if becoming an expert appeals to you, get started today, right now and make the very next person you deal with say WOW!

Are you on your way to becoming an expert?
